Claire Reynolds

Physical Therapist

Claire Reynolds grew up in Washington, D.C. where she spent the majority of her time playing soccer. She studied English at Georgetown University, but encountered health issues her senior year which led her to pursue a career in the field of physical and/or mental health and well-being. She spent the next seven years teaching yoga, coaching CrossFit, and going back to Georgetown to complete her prerequisite coursework for physical therapy. Claire achieved her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Northwestern University in Chicago.

Claire’s passion for working as part of a multidisciplinary sports medicine team and desire to gain experience working in Division 1 athletics compelled her to apply to and participate in Memorial Hermann’s Sports Physical Therapy Residency Program in Houston, Texas. Highlights of her program included working at the University of Houston and a local high school both in the athletic training room and sidelines during practices and games. In addition, Claire contributed to research focused on surgical outcomes and return to sport following knee surgery and research on the relationship of humeral retrotorsion corrected glenohumeral range of motion and scaption strength and MUCL injury in collegiate baseball players.

Claire serves on the Editorial Board of Sports Health Journal, co-coordinates the American Academy of Sports Physical Therapy’s “Peek Behind the Paper,” and is part of the AASPT’s Shoulder Special Interest Group’s mentorship program. Claire loves working with athletes seeking a return to sports performance, physician collaboration to optimize post-operative outcomes, and return to sport testing.

Outside of work, Claire loves exploring the outdoors with her fiancée, riding her bike, working out at CrossFit, and reading.
